Research Award in Honor of Dr. Hervy Averette

 

 

The Florida Society of Gynecologic Oncology (FSGO) is pleased to announce that it is seeking applications for the annual research award in honor of Dr. Hervy Averette.

 

Topics:

​

Original research relating to the etiology, natural history, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic malignant and premalignant diseases.

​

Candidates:

​

• OBGYN residents in training in the state of Florida

• Gynecologic oncology fellows in training in the state of Florida

​​

Selection process and instructions: 

​

• Research that has been presented in other national meetings is eligible for this award as long as it was not presented earlier than 6/12/2024. Research that has been already published is not eligible.

• Application deadline:  Abstracts should emailed to  fabushahin@yahoo.com by April 13, 2025

• Abstracts submitted will be reviewed by the FSGO meeting committee.

• Four abstracts will be selected for presentation at the annual FSGO meeting on June 13 & 14, 2025.

• The registration fee for attending the FSGO meeting will waived for the residents and fellows presenting the selected abstracts.

• Accommodation for up to 2 nights at the Long Boat Key Club will be provided free of charge for the residents and fellows presenting the selected abstracts.

• After the presentations, the abstracts will be ranked based on the scientific merit and presentation skills.

• The presenter of the winning abstract will be awarded “$1500”.  

• The presenters of the 3 other abstracts will receive “$750” each.
